O holy Brioc, Enlightener of the lands of Wales and Brittany: with miracles thou didst preach Christ in thy life, and in death thy fragrance proclaimed thy glory. Pray to Christ our God that our souls may be saved.

Saint Gluvias of Cornwall — 2/15 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 2)

O glorious Father Gluvias, thou didst bring the light of Christ to Cornwall while thy brother holy Cadoc enlightened Wales. As thou dost intercede for all men, pray to Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.

Saint Scannal of Cell-Coleraine, Ulster — 3/16 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 3)

Sent by Columcille thou didst travel from Iona and spend thy life preaching Christ in pagan darkness. As thou hast boldness before Christ in heavenly glory, O Father Scannal, entreat Him that our souls may be saved.

Saint Hydroc of Cornwall — 5/18 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 4)

O holy Hydroc who didst witness for the Faith and shine in Cornwall: pray that the darkness of our present times may be dispersed by bold preachers like thyself, that God may be glorified in these lands.

Saint Comgall of Bangor, Co. Down — 10/23 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 4)

O Comgall, Father of monks, thou didst train four thousand monastics. Thou didst kindle Christ’s fire in Bangor and thy cell was aglow in pagan darkness. O friend of Saint Columcille, thou radiancy of Ireland and Scotland, we praise God who has glorified thee.

Saint Mael of Bardsey, Wales — 13/26 May

O holy Mael, worthy disciple of Bardsey’s Founder Cadfan, and hermit on the Isle of Saints: together with thy fellow monastics who have attained to glory, pray for us to Christ our God that He grant us His great mercy.

Saint Brendan the Navigator — 16/29 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 4)

The Divine Likeness hath been perfected in thee, O holy Father Brendan, for taking up the Cross thou hast followed Christ, and by thy deeds thou hast taught us to disdain the flesh for it passeth away, but to cultivate the soul for it is immortal: wherefore, O holy father, thy spirit rejoiceth with the Angels.

Saint Carantoc of Wales, Missionary in Ireland — 16/29 May

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 7)

Preferring to serve in the Kingdom of God than to rule an earthly kingdom, O Father Carantoc, thou didst convert many to Christ in Ireland, in thy native Wales and in Cornwall, where having cast out the dragon and founded many churches thou wast a shining beacon guiding many souls into the Way of Salvation. Pray now to Christ our God that He will save our souls.

Out of pagan darkness in the land of Cornwall thou didst shine as a witness to Christ. Holy hermit Madern, entreat Him that the light thou didst kindle may ever shine in our hearts.

As once thou didst labour in thy monastery at Tascaffin and dost now rejoice in heavenly glory: we beseech thee to entreat Christ our God for the people of Ireland and that He may have mercy on us all.

Saint Becan of Cork — 26 May / 8 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 4)

O holy Becan, kinsman of Columcille and partaker of his sanctity, from thy monastery at Kill Baggan thou didst glorify Christ our God. Entreat Him to save our souls.

Saint Herve of Brittany — 1/14 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 1)

O Herve, thou minstrel and teacher of the Faith, thy sweet voice enlightened the darkness though thou wast born without the gift of sight. Pray that the light of Christ may ever dispel the new pagan darkness from our lands, that God may be glorified.

Saint Kevin of Glendalough — 3/16 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 8)

Thou was privileged to live in the Age of Saints, O Father Kevin, being baptised by one saint, taught by another and buried by a third. Pray to God that He will raise up saints in our day to help, support and guide us into the Way of salvation.

Saint Petroc and His Companions in Cornwall — 4/17 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 2)

O Petroc, Master Builder of the Faith in the West, who didst prefer the heavenly warfare to thy kingly heritage and military prowess: with thy companions thou didst travel through the West Country establishing churches and didst include the animals in thy loving care. In thy monastic zeal thou didst recite the psalms in rivers: through thy prayer may the flow of Christian Faith ever increase in our land.

Saint Meriadoc of Cornwall and Brittany — 7/20 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 4)

O Meriadoc holy hermit, through thy simplicity thou didst draw many souls to God. Near the church of the Mother of God in Camborne, thou didst cause a healing well to rise. We glorify God Who has glorified thee.

Saint Columcille (Columba) of Derry and Iona — 9/22 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 5)

By Thy God-inspired life thou didst embody both the mission and the dispersion of the Church, most glorious Father Columcille. Using thy repentence and voluntary exile, Christ our God raised thee up as a beacon of the True Faith, an Apostle to the heathen and an indicator of the Way of salvation. Wherefore, O holy one, cease not to intercede for us that our souls may be saved.

Saint Ternan of Culross, Scotland — 12/25 June

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 5)

At Candida Casa among the throng of saints the flame of faith enkindled thee, O holy father Ternan. Thy missionary labours among the Picts have shone with glory as did thy monastery of Culross in Fife. Pray to Christ our God to save our souls.

Saint Colman MacRoi, Abbot-Founder of Reachrain, Co. Dublin — 16/29 June

Disciple of Columcille, thou didst return to his native land and found a monastery at Dublin. As thou dost now stand before Christ with the Angels, pray, O Colman, that those who hymn thee may obtain His great mercy.

Saint Nectan of Hartland, Devonshire — 17/30 June

O holy Father Nectan thou didst follow the bidding of the Lord and didst leave thy father and mother for His sake to embrace the hermit’s life. Faithful follower of Christ unto death, pray that He may save our souls.

Saint Mewan of Brittany — 21 June / 4 July

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 7)

Holy disciple of Saint Samson of Dol, thou didst persevere in thy resolve and enter a monastery in Brittany. Thou didst press on in thy holy struggle and establish thine own monastery. O holy Mewan, pray for us to Christ our God that our souls may be saved.

Saint Gerome of Cornwall — 24 June / 7 July

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 6)

O holy Gerome who didst count monastic poverty far more glorious than thy previous kingship and didst not fear the death of the body when thou couldst win souls for Christ: as thou didst thank and praise the Saviour in thy church in Cornwall, pray that we all may be saved.

Saint Brannock of Braunton — 26 June / 9 July

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 6)

Righteous tutor of the children of Brychan and great wonderworker, O Father Brannock, thou didst win many souls for Christ by thy tireless endeavours. As Braunton’s church may yet hold thy precious relics, pray that we, being ever mindful of our Orthodox heritage, may never deviate from the true Faith and, thereby, receive the reward of the blest.

Saint Austol of Cornwall and Brittany — 28 June / 11 July

Dismissal Hymn (Tone 6)

Light of Cornwall and pillar of the Faith, holy Austol, disciple of Samson: thou wast a fellow-labourer with Saint Mewan, in such companionship that thou didst die with him and share his grave. Pray to Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.
